Hey Everyone, sorry for my long absence, I've been busy with other commitments, and job hunting....with no luck im afraid. I've never been far though, I still checked in once a week to see how things were going. So im glad to see there are still people who haven't given up hope of one day seeing this mod completed. Now since Lancers closed down, I've been inundated with Browncoats wanting the Original Mod, and i've had to email it to them one by one. So I see support for Firefly is still very much alive. So I thought to my self, what would be a good present for all my loyal Browncoat friends out there. "The Mod Completed" of course!! Well I cant work miracles, and the completed mods quite a ways off. So I updated the Firefly Model For you to play with in the mean time. I've added a few new things to it, and updated a few more. For a full list of the changes, see the "Read Me". Lancers is down? Man, it's been on a downhill slope for the past, like, 2 years. But I never thought I'd go down for good...
Either way, people still have strong feelings about Firefly and you are awesome, bringing us this.

Hello Godzero,
I am glad that you have returned to finish the mod. Do you need any help? I dont know anything about modding and I would like to learn, I do know lots of stuff about firefly and Serenity. I have several books that might help in creating missions and cargo. I love freelancer and would love to work on this project with you. The 2d map you made of the "verse" I have used on the tabletop RPG and my players loved it more than any other map we found. I think that there are several people out there that would love to play a Serenity total conversion mod. Please let me know if you are interested in letting me work with you on this project.

Well, I'm working on the main parts at the minute, so there's not much to do from a coding standpoint.
HOWEVER!
What we do need are rumours, news broadcasts, and 3D models of Serenity ships! That would go a long way in getting this mod done!

For that sort of information, the serenity RPG is obvious. But also, www.findingserenity.org have some custom made serenity/firefly 'verse ships with blueprints and everything. Go check it out, and ask those guys if they can supply you with additional stuff. Seriously. They've got some sweet designs. |

Well to me the obvious thing, is to register on the site, and PM the guy who posts up most of the posts with said designs in, and go from there.
But I guess I may as well throw something up with a linky back here and see what the response is.

No worries about lancer being down. We are picking up the slack. http://www.freelancercommunity.netWe've got everything from Forums with special forums for each mod that wants one to tutorials for moding to a direct launch for each server now that the global is down. Stop in and check it out! |

You are the best! I'm so glad that you have taken on this labor of love. Your firefly model is by-far the best that i have seen. I love just taking it out and running cargo here and there trying to keep my boat flying. I would love, however, to play the SP version through to completion using just this ship and no others. I understand that due to the purity of the series that this ship must be unarmed and unshielded for the finished mod, and i totally respect that, and look forward to it. So in that light, do you have any plans to produce an armed and shielded version so that we could progress through the SP using this beautiful ship? I will understand if you have personal objections to changing the whole feel of the ship this way. I was just curious......and hoping. Thanks.

I can really sympathise with what your doing here having been in around the modding scene for a while now (Director of Traction Wars Modification for Crysis Warhead) which is currently where most my free time is going - that in mind I do have some modelling talent and would be willing to lend a hand with something if required.
